It can be difficult for children to open up about their lives. I will walk alongside you and your child, at a pace that you set, to ensure comfortability and success. I can’t promise it will be easy but I know it will be worth it. By providing you with meaningful tools, strategies and feedback, your goals can be met and we will have a little fun and share some laughs along the way.

These sessions are used to support children, pre-teens, and teenagers as they navigate life. For younger children, parent support is required to help solidify skills and enact change.

This offering is for families who are looking for further information on how their child is functioning in the classroom. Teacher consultation, a parent follow up, and a brief summary report are included. Further requirements or modification can be discussed as necessary.

Support Session
Seeing your child struggle can be difficult for you too. These sessions are designed to support you by providing you with a safe space for you to breathe without your child or teen present. Please note, these sessions are a great way to kick start your child’s counselling journey or for those with younger children who may not be quite ready for therapy on their own.

By getting outside you may feel more at ease and experience less anxiety that can come from being in a traditional office setting. All walk-and-talk and mindfulness sessions occur at Carburn Park in SE Calgary. Perfect for all ages.

How We Heal
I practice from a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. I also draw from a cognitive-behavioural framework and often help children and parents find solutions to difficult behaviours and life challenges.

Founded on the belief that each person, no matter their challenges or experiences, has unique strengths that can support them throughout their life. In therapy we work together to uncover those strengths, while also acknowledging events that may have had significant influence on current behaviours to reframe the way you view yourself and shift the focus back to what you do well.

Focusses on the here-and-now and the problems that come up in day-to-day life. CBT helps individuals to examine how you make sense of what is happening around you and how these perceptions affect the way you feel. During therapy we will work collaboratively to learn to identify, challenge, and change the thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs that can be related to emotional and behavioural reactions that are causing difficulty.
